Corona

The Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival 2020, which was set to take place on June 26-28, is cancelled. “We now know that events are not allowed until September, but also that it's better and safer not to have any events anytime soon”, says Guido de Groot, organizer of the RBF. “We have already started planning RBF 2021 and we’re busy rescheduling this year’s line-up to next year as we speak. This year was supposed to be our ten year anniversary. Well, that has been moved up to June 25-27 next year and we want to make sure it will be most spectacular!”

Some things are just meant to be. This unique collaboration between two very gifted musicians is just that. Get ready for 15-time ‘IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) Dobro Player of the Year’, Rob Ickes. He’s here with stalwart associate Trey Hensley, a Tennessee-born guitar prodigy who made his Grand Ole Opry debut at the age of 11. Known for their white-hot picking, stone-cold country vocals and world class musicianship, Ickes and Hensley melt together blues, bluegrass, country, rock and string band music of all kinds to form a signature blend of music that defies restrictions of a genre.

Whiskey Shivers (US)

A diverse group of masterfully talented musicians, standing out like a sore thumb from the traditional roots motley crew, Whiskey Shivers made a name for themselves with a genre-bending sound the Washington Post called "apocalyptic Americana" and NPR described as "frenetic bluegrass" with a "punk spirit.
